2 More Days to GO

2 more days and we're off to Alaska! This week has proven to be very interesting and unusual for the days leading up to the trip. 8 months of planning and we're down to the wire. Whether its been attacks, building a team, changes of plans, financial worries, and various other obstacles. But in ALL circumstances, God has been in control. Leading this trip has caused me to lean even more on God and not on self.
As I look back and reflect just for a little while, there is no way to deny the overwhelming and controlling influence the Lord has had in this mission trip. Just to share a few -- We were able to secure our commercial flight tickets just days before the fare increased by $200 per person, with 2 weeks to go we still didn't have all of our finances in place - but as of Tuesday we have secured all our finances and even have a surplus, and even two days before the trip our charter flight logistics aren't closed. But, just as God has worked everything (many other items I chose not to list) out, I am 100% confident He will work this out as well for His Glory.
Lastly, this week has also been extremely rewarding. I have observed how nicely the team has come together and bonded. They have been encouraging, supportive, and loving to another. And as the one who was again called to lead the team, it really warms my heart to see the team grow in spiritual maturity as they have.
Archie, Ashley, David, David, Kit, Marty, and Marty I know you all are ready and excited to experience the blessings the Lord has planned for you -- Just 2 more days to wait. And while you are waiting take a look at 1 Peter 3:15 - 18.
So get to packing -- Like David said this morning -- there aren't any Wal-Marts (or any other "marts", Walgreens, or any-store for the that matter) where we're GOing.

  1. Just a quick and POWERFUL update. Just 2.5hr ago, our chartered flight logistics were not in good shape -- In fact they were at a point of busting the budget. But like I said, I was 100% confident God would work it ALL out. Well the short of the long story is I as told the budgetary number I've been working with were going to increase significantly. This news was given to me just this morning. One of my peer team leads from Abundant Life Church was persistent in addressing the chartered flight details with the company. As it turns out, the charter company found an error in their estimate calculation. The result was just the opposite of what I was expecting. Instead of a significant price increase -- We were blessed with a $135 per person fare DECREASE! How Awesome is THAT? Yeah, I know its a rhetorical question. This only further reinforces the plain and simple fact that God is in Control! And as a result of fare decrease, we can bless the camp by providing even more scholarships for kids to come to camp this summer and be exposed to the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
ALL things work together for the Glory of God!
